About AI Match Mode
You can play against various difficulty levels of Reversi AI, suitable for beginners to advanced players.
The Reversi AI selects good moves while considering various board states. The most common 'Intermediate AI' considers about one move ahead, while higher level AIs consider more than eight moves ahead to determine the best move.
In AI Match mode, over 2 million games have been played so far, with a win rate of about 73% against the 'Intermediate AI'. On the other hand, the win rate is lower against higher-level AIs, with only about 27% against the hidden content '🌈 Legendary AI', which is only accessible to a limited number of strong players.
Play in App Mode
Although this site is a browser game, you can also add it to your home screen as a web app. It takes only a few seconds and consumes almost no device storage. On the other hand, the game launches even faster and you can use the main features offline. Please give it a try!
About Reversi (Othello)
Basic Rules
Reversi is a board game where you capture your opponent's pieces by surrounding them. It is also known as 'Othello'. The game proceeds according to the following rules.
- Black goes first, followed by White, taking turns placing stones.
- When you surround your opponent's stones, they are flipped to your color. You can surround stones in any direction: vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
- You can only place your stones on squares where you can surround your opponent's stones ( valid moves ).
- If you have no valid moves, the system will automatically pass your turn to your opponent. The game ends when both players pass.
Highlighting Valid Moves
Reversi Web has a feature that automatically detects and displays valid moves. This feature can be turned off in Settings.
Time Limit
You can set a time limit to increase the game's pace. The shortest option is the 10-second rule, allowing for ultra-fast matches!
Winning Conditions
- At the end of the game, the player with the most pieces wins.
- In matches with a time limit, you also win if your opponent runs out of time.
- In online match mode, the forfeit button is available. If your opponent forfeits, you win.
