Reversi (Othello) Rules

Basic Rules

Reversi is a board game played on an 8×8 grid, also known as 'Othello'. The game proceeds with the following rules.

• The game starts with two black and two white stones placed in the center.
• Black moves first, followed by White, taking turns.
• If you sandwich the opponent's pieces, they flip to your color. You can flip pieces vertically, horizontally, or diagonally.
• You can place your stone in any position where it captures the opponent's stones (valid move).
• If you have no valid moves, your turn is automatically passed to the opponent. If both players have no moves, the game ends.

About Valid Moves

In this game, valid moves are automatically detected and highlighted for better visibility. This feature can be turned off in the settings.

Time Limit

You can set a time limit to increase the game's pace. The shortest option is the 10-second rule, allowing for ultra-fast matches!

Winning Conditions

• At the end of the game, the player with the most pieces wins. If both players have the same number of pieces, the game is a draw.
• In matches with a time limit, the player whose time runs out loses.
• In online matches, you can use the forfeit button. If your opponent forfeits, you win.
